Cheap ed hardy Heights marched 74-yards in five plays for its only score of the game at the out-set of the third stanza with Kirt Johnson 's 54-yard dash setting up the touchdown as the ball moved to the Holland 20. Quarterback Ed Hardy even- tually scored from the seven on a keeper play as the Tigers took a surprising 6-0 lead and increased it to 8-0 as Hardy ran in the conversion. Randy Kuipers returned the ensuing kickoff to the 37 where the Dutch marched downfield on the passing of Matchinsky and the receiving of Bill Wood who was carrying two and three defenders on his back for long yardage at times. Wood finished the night by grabbing off five passes for 48 yards while Kuipers snagged four for 30 yards. Matchinsky 's apparent touch- down run from the 16 was called back because of another Hol- land infraction which turned out to be a clipping penalty. The Dutch were not to be de- nied as Matchinsky hit Lorence for his first TD pass reception from the 17 on a fourth and 11 situation. With defensive tackle Carl Russ leading the way, the Tig- ers forced Holland into a fourth and six from the 20 and Mat- chinsky was "Johnny on the spot" as he threw for I.orence in the end zone where Holland 's end made a fine catch to win the game. Wayne Neal returned the kickoff to Holland 's 42 and what looked like a sure Dutch vic- tory with time running out wa still up for grabs but Dave Yskes of Holland came up with the defensive gem of the night as he tossed Hardy for a 1C- yard loss on a fourth and inches situation deep in Holland terri- tory.
